“Tour. Garcia has extensive knowledge in many areas,” said Teague. “His passion for the hospital and his role in the community is at the highest level.

Reverend Garcia brings a diverse perspective to his role as a member of the Board of Directors. Since 2017, he has been the pastor of the oldest church in the county. Before entering the seminary, he was a lawyer in the military for 25 years and obtained an MBA. His upbringing as a military “kid” growing up overseas exposed him to a wide variety of health care models. He also draws on his own personal experience as a prostate cancer survivor.

“I believe that a great local hospital is part of the strong foundation of a thriving community,” said Rev. Garcia. “Patients with access to quality care in a hospital they trust will seek care early, rather than waiting to travel far for treatment. It’s better for all of us.

Since joining the active medical staff in 2013, Dr Choi has served as the Medical Director of the Adult Hospitalization Program, specializing in caring for patients during their hospital stay. In addition, he has served on numerous committees having a direct impact on patient care, including quality improvement, nosocomial conditions, medication safety, accreditation and intensive care.

Dr Choi is also the Medical Director of Informatics, which uses information technology to organize and analyze health records to improve outcomes. He also led the one-year project to upgrade CalvertHealth’s information system to a whole new platform, laying the foundation for the hospital’s IT future.

“Dr. Choi has many years of experience with our healthcare system and has established strong relationships with our suppliers,” said Teague. “His insight as a medical representative will be particularly beneficial as we focus on our mission. to provide the best care to our patients. ”
