NPSC Director of Education to retire in spring


After 37 years in education, Anna Marie Bitonti, director of education for the Nipissing-Parry Sound District Catholic School Board (NPSC), will be retiring next spring.

She was appointed Director of Education in 2002.

“It has been a privilege to witness daily faith in action and an honor to work with the team of knowledgeable and compassionate educators, support staff, school administrators, system leaders and parents at NPSC.” , Bitonti said. “With the dedication of this exceptional and innovative board-wide team, and the continued forward-looking leadership of our board and senior directors, the NPSC is well positioned to continue to influence and shape the future of Catholic education in our District and Province. “

A statement from the Board of Directors says that during her tenure, the NPSC has seen the expansion of programs and services, the improvement and modernization of school facilities, a culture of continuous professional learning and development and building valuable community partnerships.

During her career, Bitonti has served as Chair of the Council of Ontario Directors of Education (CODE), Chair of the English Catholic Council of Ontario Directors of Education (ECCODE), as well as various regional, provincial and ministerial advisory committees.
