PAPILLION – The Papillion Community Foundation announced last week the resignation of its Executive Director Laura Schwartz, effective December 1.
Schwartz, who had been an executive director since July 2017, has been appointed an assistant vice president of Citizens State Bank. She will be responsible for the Papillion market.
“I am so grateful to have served the community that has meant so much to me and to have been a part of the Papillion Community Foundation for over four years,” said Schwartz. “I am thrilled to join the Citizens State Bank team and look forward to continuing to serve this community in another capacity. “
During his tenure with the foundation, Schwarz developed several programs, including the Papillion Urban Garden and Pantry for Our Patriots, as well as countless hours of work on the Papillion 150 celebration and Papillion Days. It has also launched a high school internship program to support future business leaders.
The executive committee of the Papillion Community Foundation has appointed Joe Hunter, currently the organization’s deputy director, as interim executive director.
Hunter has been with the Papillion Community Foundation since February 2020. A longtime Papillion resident, he has a background in political science and non-profit management.
“It has been an honor to work with the foundation board and Laura for almost two years now,” said Hunter. “I am delighted with the new opportunities that await Laura at Citizens State Bank. The ongoing partnership between the foundation and Citizens State Bank will be stronger because of its continued service to this community.
